Superior Cowl Part Two

This cowl has quickly become a shop favorite as it is so soft and luxurious to knit and wear!! So... without further ado, here is the pattern

Superior Cowl
by, Patricia Scribner

Yarn: Superior by Filatura Di Crosa Golden Line
Needles: US 6 - 16" or 24" circular

Loosely cast on 100 stitches. Place marker & join for working in the round being careful not to twist stitches.

Work 6 rounds in garter stitch (knit 1 round & purl 1 round).
Knit in Stockinette Stitch for about 21" & finish off with 6 rounds garter stitch.

Bind off very loosely - consider using a larger needle in your right hand to make the bind off as flexible as possible.

Sew in your ends & put it on - now you know why this yarn is named "superior".

Enjoy!!

Would this work in black for a MAN? I want to make him something to wear when he's on his motorcycle, definitely in cashmere or cashmere/silk and definitely in black.

Im so excited to make this pattern and have cast on 100 stitches but cannot reach from one end of needle to the other to knit in the round. I am using 24" needles as recommended...any suggestions?

Thank you for the pattern. Knitted it out of Juniper Moon varigated and it is soft and fun and light as a feather, but warm as toast.

I had the same problem. Did you figure it out?

If you don't have a 16" you can knit the first two rounds as rows (knit both rows to keep the garter stitch pattern) and then join, you with likely find that after the first two rounds/rows, there is enough given the stitches to comfortably work in the round, just remember to stitch the two row/rounds together when you weave in your ends. (I haven't done it with this project but I've done it with several others, just as a disclaimer).

The length of needle is 16”. I recently finished the Bridget Cowl. 24” was recommended and the same thing happened to me. I switched to the 16” and it worked perfectly.
